The first telescope...

The first telescope will soon be ready for installation at the Australian school. The pier on which the telescope and mount will stand and a camera are being ordered, and the school are making the final preparations for the installation and commissioning of the first of our four Global Jet Watch telescopes. We plan that at the end of April a representative of the Oxford team will travel to our Australian school to oversee the installation of the pier, mount and telescope into the dome, which is already in place. Then the telescope will be calibrated to operational status and we will obtain first light for the project!

A detailed guide of each of the necessary steps will soon go up on the new instrumentation section of the website (viewable only by GJW team members).
